Erin has over ten years’ experience as a performer and singing teacher, with a career spanning many different genres and destinations. She trained in Musical Theatre at PPA and holds a BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre from ArtsEd in London, and has appeared in productions of Cinderella, Lady Be Good and Annie.

As a professional vocalist she continues to enjoy a varied career in the industry, and has recorded and performed all over the world with acts including The Hammervilles, AIDA Cruises and The Wild Tonics alongside her own projects.

Erin has a deep and instinctive love of singing, and is passionate about encouraging young (or older!) vocalists to find the confidence and joy to unlock their voice through positivity, compassion and technique.

What happens in a singing lesson?

Each lesson is uniquely crafted to the needs of an individual student. We will always start with vocal warmups and exercises to ensure the voice and the muscles we need for singing are all ready to use safely.

It is really important to me that a student is singing material that they enjoy working on, so I am always open to work on whatever songs they get excited about and want to sing. However, this will normally be worked on alongside suggested repertoire, perhaps something more out of their comfort zone or tailored to help them work on a particular vocal technique or style.

I am passionate about ensuring students are singing safely and with freedom, so we may also spend some time working on the physiology of singing performance, perhaps exploring breathwork, placement and release exercises to help with sound production.

My background is in musical theatre and live performance, so I am always looking for an opportunity to explore acting through song, and working with students to tackle performance anxiety or nervousness, in order to boost their confidence — whether going into an audition, exam or just a performance for fun!

Lessons take place on a one-to-one basis from my home in Surbiton (Zone 6), and I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.
